| ABOUT THOMAS KOWALSKI: Thomas Kowalski is President and CEO of Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute (THBI), located in Austin, TX. THBI is a statewide, public policy research organization whose purpose is to promote medical research, development, and manufacturing in Texas. THBI consists of leading biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical companies; universities; private research institutions; and economic development corporations. The mission of THBI is to develop solid information about the medical research and manufacturing community in Texas, and to make that information available to political leaders, the news media, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and the public.
